The Essentials of Food Hygiene for Persons with Learning Disabilities or Communication Challenges

This is an engaging,visual session aimed at persons with medium to severe learning disabilities and/or communication problems. Please note that my speech is slowed, it contains simplified terminology and is supplemented by symbols. It is also paced so the learner can be supported if needed by a carer or support worker or family member.

Its purpose is to go through the essential “house rules” for any induction into working in a food handling environment. Although set in a commercial kitchen with that focus it does provide valuable life skills for home.

This course is split into 2 numbered modules that require completing in order. The duration of this course is circa 40 minutes footage and then your assessment follows of 5 multiple choice questions that will take approximately 10 minutes to complete depending on your approach. The pass mark is 5/5 but you do have the opportunity to try as many times as required without any additional cost. There is an instant digital certificate.

L2 HACCP Principles

A progressive course that is ideal if you have some prior food safety learning at L2 but that is not essential. The session is informative and involves active completion of a simple HACCP flowchart and control chart. Its specific targeted learning outcomes are to increase your awareness and confidence in understanding HACCP and how to develop, implement and maintain a simple HACCP. It is suitable for persons from both a catering and manufacturing environment but for the latter more of a starter course and one to provide you with enough information as a new member of a HACCP team.

This course is one module. The duration of this course is circa 1 hour 35 minutes footage and then your assessment follows of 15 multiple choice questions that will take approximately 15 minutes to complete depending on your approach. The pass mark is 9/15 and your result instant but you do have the opportunity to try as many times as required without any additional cost. There is an instant digital certificate.

L3 Supervising Food Safety in Catering

This is an engaging training course aimed at supporting persons within a supervisory role or the food business operator. It is additionally suitable for any food handlers who just want to learn more. The course firmly examines food safety from the role of the supervisor and covers the responsibilities which that role demands.

This course is split into 12 numbered modules that require completing in order. The duration of this course is circa 6 hours footage and then your assessment follows of 40 multiple choice questions that will take approximately 50 minutes to complete depending on your approach. The pass mark is 24/40 and your result instant but you do have the opportunity to try as many times as required without any additional cost. There is an instant digital certificate.

*Please note that this course also incorporates the L2 Allergen Awareness and the L2 HACCP – there would be no need to complete these separately if you choose to purchase the L3.

L2 Food Safety in Catering

This is a supportive training course for persons currently working as a food handler or persons who are seeking employment as a food handler in any catering environment. The course is also suitable for volunteers and those who work in care with some food handling responsibilities.

This course is split into 6 numbered modules that require completing in order. The duration of this course is circa 2 hours 40 minutes of footage to view and then your assessment follows of 20 multiple choice questions that will take approximately 20 minutes to complete depending on your approach. The pass mark is 12/20 and your result instant but you do have the opportunity to try as many times as required without any additional cost. There is an instant digital certificate.

L2 Allergen Awareness

This is an informative training course that provides specific targeted learning outcomes to increase your awareness and confidence in understanding allergens & control.

This course is one module. The duration of this course is circa 46 minutes of footage and then your assessment follows of 15 multiple choice questions that will take approximately 15 minutes to complete depending on your approach. The pass mark is 9/15 and your result instant but you do have the opportunity to try as many times as required without any additional cost. There is an instant digital certificate.
